Greetings from Kent Stasey;
Born and raised in Chalk Mountain, Texas in Erath County, I grew up working on the Stasey farm and ranch, which has been in my family for over 113 years. Our family heritage is moving forward and the operation of the ranch continues today. I attended the one room school house called Three Way Independent School, which is an elementary thru 8th grade school that educated around 35 rural students at that time. I attended high school in Stephenville Texas and earned my Bachelors degree in Accounting at Tarleton State University, a part of the Texas A&M system, also in Stephenville Texas.
I grew up attending the church where my great - grandparents were founding members, which continues to hold services. When the church was formed, different denominations held their services there, using the church at different times as each denomination depended on each other to afford the opportunity for a worship facility.
Growing up on a working ranch in a small Texas community means that you learn at a young age to make the most with what you have on hand and the importance of working with your friends and neighbors through good times and bad. I developed a great understanding for the hard work it took to keep a family business running. It meant managing the resources available as well as working with other members of our small community. Despite the distance between homes, you always knew if your family needed something there would be someone at your door, or field, or fence, ready to help. I appreciate the heritage of the community where I grew up where we trusted and depended on one another.
I am blessed and fortunate to have been a part of a small town tradition and I found many of those same great qualities when my family moved to Annetta 16 years ago. We have great families that work hard supporting a Life in Annetta that centers on the school, the church, and building the future of the local community.
My wife Mary Beth, and I, have two wonderful children. We have been blessed to raise them here in Annetta. My son, Tanner, is a 2010 Aledo High School graduate, who is now a graduate of The University of Texas at Arlington majoring in Economics and works in Auto Finance for Santander USA in Dallas. My daughter, Samantha, is a sophomore at Aledo High School and plays Soccer.
As citizens of Annetta we are all connected. We must work together to sustain our great quality of life today, and provide our families and future generations with the heritage of a strong close community.
Supporting and respecting our neighbors is The Right Thing to Do.
I believe my experience will help Annetta maintain and promote the quality of life and the strong sense of community we all are privileged to have.
