I have lived in Annetta for 16 years. I know how it feels to have year after year water restrictions and not have a say in this fundamental utility for my home. I remember when Willow Park owned and operated our Water system and none of us had any say. I know how customers and citizens of the city feel about lack of representation to make their needs a priority. In 2013, NO customers of our Utility system were represented on the Annetta council, today 80% of our council are also customers of our Utility system. I was elected in 2013 and Annetta made the necessary changes to improve. Our council changed, and the improvements have lead to achieving a Superior Rating for our Water system and no restrictions since 2013.
I live in Deer Creek, we all use common roads going to and from work, and to Stuard Elementary to take our kids to school. Annual road maintenance plans must be a budget priority and prior to 2013 they were scarce at best, identifiable road expenditures averaged less than $20,000 per yer. With the voluntary annexation and honoring of customer petitions to join the city, additional dollars became available from Electricity Utilities via Franchise Fees paid by the utility and Sales Taxes from home businesses and online commerce. It took a couple years to save significant dollars from the change, but since 2013 our road maintenance expenditures have Averaged almost $61,000 per year, Our council committed to change, and road maintenance is now a priority.
We still maintain Annetta with NO CITY PROPERTY TAXES. Our Community Vision and Comprehensive plan identified it as a priority, it is.
Based on my performance, I ask for your vote to continue Annetta progress.
Saturday May the 4th 2019 is election day.
I committed to making positive changes, and support solutions to improve our community; it was the right thing to do in 2013 and it is still the Right Thing to Do.
Vote Kent Stasey, Annetta City Council, Place #5.
I support re-Election of Bruce Pinckard and I support welcoming Sandy Roberts to the council as she has served very well on our Planning and Zoning commission and will be a great addition to our council. I am committed to joining Bruce and Sandy in implementing positive solutions to continue improvement in our Utility Systems, improve our roads, and represent our customers and citizens fairly.
Neighbor to Neighbor, engaging like minded principles, we can continue to improve, and we will.
Have a good day.
